The fortress of Alanya. Turkey
The fortress of Alanya was built in the XIII century by Sultan Alladin Keykubid on even more ancient ruins of Roman military fortifications. The structure is very extensive and includes about a hundred towers and almost a hundred and fifty bastions, and in the courtyard you can see such famous (unfortunately, only in a fairly narrow circle of specialists) monuments such as the tomb of Akshaba Sultun, the Suleiman the Magnificent Mosque, the palace of the sultan-founder fortress, named in his honor, and a lot of other absolutely wonderful both from archaeological and from the tourist point of view of the constructions.
