The hemp (Musa textilis; English: Manila hemp) is a species of bananas from the Philippines, and also grows in Borneo and Sumatra. The plant is a major economic significance because of its fruit harvest, also called hemp, which is derived from a large, oblong leaf or stem. Generally, plants grow up to about 20 feet (6 meters) tall. The use of yarns is to made ropes.

The leaves grow from the plant, and the ends of the leaves form the covering of the tree. These covers contain frames. Large lengths of 5 to 11.5 feet (1.5 to 3.5 meters) are large. They consist of plant materials such as cellulose, lignin, and pectin. It is called Manila hemp in English and afterwards is framed, it is sold under the name Manila. It was named in English from the Philippine capital, Manila.

The hemp fields are harvested every three to eight months. The old one hemp will get harvested by cutting it off the plants, but allow the root to grew up again in the fields. New plants grow from old roots. Removing the covering of the leaves in the form of thin and long. Stretch the spindle to leave the straps, which are twisted to the rope. The hemp fiber is strong, floating in water, and with natural water resistance, sun and wind.Manila paper is made also from hemp fiber.

Some farmers that had the hemp plantation at the mountain area is giving a source of income from individuals as a worker at the fields.Hemp plantation owners paid lebors to their worker.Hemp is also source of income of the native people who live at the mountain area they just look for wild hemp that grew in the vastshes.Barong tagalog is also made from hemps fiber.
