I've been preying for you to invite me in.
Mantis is starting to get cold and wants to come to spend the autumn with us. I would appreciate the company and would rather have him around than a centipede any day. He also does a great job exterminating mosquitoes.
It is a dilemma for me.
Should I let Mantis stay for the winter or not? As it is he is on the outside of the window and the centipede is on the inside. I could just open the screen and let him in.
On the outside looking in
A leper I am not
Yet outcast in the cold
Hungrily looking in
A dinner ready to be had
cannot be mine
I stand outside the window looking in
The autumn wind bites
as I hop around for a bite
Would somebody let me in?
There is no chance for a professional
Not even a window
I heard that kings kept these as pets on their bed to keep away the bugs at night. But in my case I think it is best not to interfere with nature's course. Mantis still looks happy trying scrape together a mid autumn afternoon snack.

Awww Mantis is so loyal, Christopher, you should make him a bed for the winter somewhere to give him shelter.
That is so cute. I have grown attached to him although the consensus is saying to get rid of him. I'm just gonna let him hang around. He never bothered me. The real enemies have always been the mosquitoes.
I definitely prefer the mantis to the centipede. Centipedes are one of the few bugs that scares me...well more like makes my skin crawl.

Yes, the centipede does make my skin crawl. One bite and I'm in pain for a few days. I'm glad it is gone and winter is near. Our first frost probably won't be until sometime in November.
Oh, I could really use a drink right now, esp with the rain and cold.
I've been bitten by a centipede before, it was more like a sting and that was it. I know people who have great pain and the bite spot swells up and lasts for days. I'm thankful I don't get a bad reaction.

The fork turned out better than I expected. It was just that bumpy road that got me a little agitated. It was the newer user that got hurt. They run out of RC. Some Steemians offered small delegations of SP to active users who have small accounts.
On another subject I don't have any great expectations for technology companies this quarter. I'm not sure why the feds raised interest rates in the US.
I like the philosophy behind crypto and hope it will benefit many but it looks like a very long term thing so I'm just having fun making some random posts and meeting friends. Are you still in South East Asia?

You have a wonderful cat my friend. I think the cold will take care of these guys sooner than anything else. Our house is kind of wild and we still have strays showing up at the door. There is a studio apartment building across the street and the tenants come and feed leave cat food and tuna in front of our door. I can't stand it. Those cats are experts in hunting pigeons. I don't know why people keep feeding them. It's like they want the cats to all turn out like Garfield.

But actually I did let nature take its course. The mantis scored the centipede and left.

Thank you @tygertyger. I have a friend who sleeps in a mosquito need to avoid killing them. He says the make a soothing lullaby.

There are only a couple weeks till frost here. I enjoy posting about these insects because of their struggle to survive in their "last days."
The centipede doesn't have the stamina of the mantis. This particular mantis has been following me around since I came back from the US in late August. I take it as a blessing not an omen.
It is gross and beautiful at the same time.
howdy again sir mineopoly! that's interesting...that they same mantis has been hanging around since you got back! I agree that they are a blessing, I think they're cool but the centipedes are gross.
How cold does it get there? I bet the winters are short, at least compared to Chicago!
