A new hope

A new hope
a ray of sunshine
the smile of a child
who does not care for what you think
or who you are
skipping along the river side
man grows up and loots the land
the nature waits patiently
and strikes when man is most careless
floods and quakes
winds and drought
nature always gives us a second chance, though
and yet, man does not learn
and keeps the carbon footprint going
the foolish leaders talk
and as time passes on,
the foolishness increases
at least, of some
I need not name anyone
the common people suffer
the filthy rich become richer
the poor become more poor
debts and bills
the more we are lured by spending 'sites'
the more we become infatuated by possessions we do not even need
and why do I need yet another wok?
and I stopped searching and window shopping
the more I look
the more I lose

A new hope
plant a sapling
grow your own
organic and pure
pollute not the planet
save it while you still can
