Head Of The Meadow Beach, Truro, Cape Cod

Cape Cod National Seashore is celebrating 58 years today!

On August 7, 1961, President John F. Kennedy signed a bill authorizing the establishment of Cape Cod National Seashore, "to preserve the natural and historic values of a portion of Cape Cod for the inspiration and enjoyment of people all over the United States."

A few years back, I was sitting on National Seashore, when this lovely storm rolled in. Quite a day. Unlike today, afternoon and all the way up until 1:30 am... Storms, Lightning, flooding, nastiness... but, still, it was quite the day, then.

Also, from my Sharktivity App... a few Shark Sightings on this beach today and beach closures while Mr. Great White swims away, for lunch elsewhere!

Always, I strive to give back
To the animals and birds around me
to put more plants in than I take out
And be a good steward for the world around me!
