Disgust or beauty? art or waste? /the Czech villa Milada/
Many people have squatted a different opinion. I have a very positive opinion because what is left to live is still alive. If someone about the house, the house, the building is not interested, I see no reason to be abandoned. In the world, not only in Europe, there is a great lack of housing and many abandoned homes, expensive housing that people can not afford and indebted for their entire lives and the lives of their offspring.
For me it's freedom. And what does it mean to you?
Milada Villa (from the '90s known as the Milada squat) is a former squat located in Prague's Prague 8 - Libeň district, near the dorms of November 17. The villa was built as a Republican building, later it was bought by the ministries of education, and then it was to be demolished in 1988, but it did not happen because of restitution disputes.
By the end of the 20th century, squatters had begun to live there, there were several attempts to drive them out, several times it happened, the villa is now abandoned and conflicts about her fate.
In the villa squatters held concerts that were attended by hundreds of people, various festivals, film screenings, workshops, author readings and other similar events. Villa users call a cultural and social center.

In the nearest case, Villa Milada should be demolished. And I give it honor and admiration to this article. RIP
