Israel and Iran have been butting heads for months, with Israel warning of strikes to any threat, anywhere from Iran. They have struck multiple Iranian forces and proxy forces in Syria throughout recent months. Fast forward to Wednesday, 09May2018, Benjamin Netanyahu met with Vladimir Putin to discuss Israel's intent to place airstrikes on threats present in Syria.

Shortly after, Iran launched a volley of missiles into Israel, prompting many towns to open their bomb shelters under the assault.

Israel kept its promises to retaliate by launching what has become the single largest direct offensive against Iran in Israeli history. This has been their largest-ever offensive in Syria since the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
