CryptoNews Of The Day: Fernando Alonso, F1 Champion and Les Mans 24 Winner, Will Store His Digital Library On The Blockchain

in #news6 years ago

When you're a famous sports person like Fernando Alonso it's obvious that your digital library is not stored on some hard drive deposited on a shelf and all the memories gathered around such a F1 champion should be somewhere/somehow stored for eternity and where could that be? You guessed it, or read it from the title. On the blockchain, and not any blockchain.

According to CCN the F1 "superstar" has already chosen KodakOne and its future blockchain based platform as the designated "saving method" for his Digital Library. To get everything right with his personal and professional photos and videos Fernando Alonso has partnered with WENN Digital Inc to have them stored for eternity on the KODAKOne Platform.

“We live in a world driven by content distribution across different channels, especially during such large events as F1 and WEC. I’m very excited to know that I have the ability to reward my fans and professional photographers for their creativity and that the content they produce can be protected by a single platform.”

The blockchain based platform will be launched by the end of 2018 or early 2019 according to CCN and not only Fernando or his PR will be able to take care of his photos and videos of him, but fans also. And in some cases some of them will be rewarded, according to WENN Digital’s Chief Commercial Officer Benedikt Dohnanyi. Dohnanyi also mentioned that the platform will go live as a public beta programme and that WENN Digital iNC is already in talks with other public persons to store "their legacy" on the blockchain of KodakOne.

“As you can imagine, Fernando Alonso gets hundreds of thousands of photos and videos taken of him every year. And in the past, there has really been no way for him to keep track of where all those photos and videos ended up. But with access to KODAKOne, he’ll now have peace-of-mind knowing that all his images and videos are protected in one place. Through the partnership, Alonso’s fans will also be able to get rewarded in certain instances for sharing photos and videos from their experiences. Let’s say someone snaps a photo of Alonso from the stands at a race. Once the KODAKOne platform is publicly available, he or she will be able to instantly copyright that photo by putting it on the platform. Furthermore, we’re collaborating with Alonso to build an ecosystem on the KODAKOne platform that will ultimately allow the fans to then use these rewards on various services, fan engagement initiatives and products within this ecosystem”.

Although not many investors see a bright future for the cryptocurrencies and some might even call them bubbles and scams the blockchain seems to find its use case more and more and enter our lives at a fast pace. Whether it is the next big revolution after the internet or not only time will tell, but there's a lot of hope shinning at the horizon for the technology and for cryptocurrenciesalso, in my opinion. Not all of them of course.
