Netanyahu wants world to pressure Iran to leave Syria
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for formulating a "broad international agreement" that would require Iran to withdraw its forces from Syria.
The head of the Israeli government stated that the Iranian military presence in Syria was the main theme of his recent tour of Europe.
"The leaders agreed with the main goal I set out, namely, the formulation of a broad international agreement that demands Iran should leave Syria, all of Syria. This was the purpose of the trip, and it was largely achieved," Netanyahu stated during a cabinet meeting on SUnday
"Although leaving Iran from Syria is a long process, I believe that if you set a goal and you know where you are going, then you have a better chance of achieving this," he added.
Netanyahu said that in Berlin, Paris and London he also spoke about Israel's determination to continue using force to neutralize Iran's hostile presence on its northern borders.
"I think that this was understood and accepted by the leaders of these countries," he said.
