New video shows militants handing over weapons before leaving northern Homs

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 P.M.) - New footage was released this week showing the Islamist rebels turning in their weapons to the Russian military police before they departed from northern Homs last month.

As shown in the footage below, many militants requested to not be filmed by the Russian military police because of their defeat:

These militants were later transported from the Homs Governorate to Idlib, where they were taken to several camps inside this province.

Since taking control of this region in northern Homs, the Syrian government has reconstructed the highway and reopened it to the public for the first time in years.
