VIDEO: US-backed militia advances against ISIS in eastern Syria

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:20 P.M.) - A US-backed Syrian group has managed to capture swaths of lands from the Islamic State in eastern Syria as the terror organization regained momentum by launching sporadic attacks against Kurdish and Syrian forces.

The offensive launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) – with heavy support from US airstrikes – has ousted ISIS from 3 towns and 7 farms, thus putting the Kurdish militia just 8 km away from ISIS' key bastion; Al-Dshishiyah town.

According to Kurdish sources, at least 34 militants were killed, including 2 senior commanders.

SDF fighters were filmed inside the recently-captured Murjan village which was seized after heavy clashes with ISIS.
