The 40th anniversary of Prague Metro line celebrated by retro rides

in #news6 years ago

Hi everyone!

Yesterday, on Sunday, August 12, it was exactly 40 years since the Prague Metro Line A was put into operation and the city´s Public Transport Department decided to celebrate this important anniversary by offering the passengers retro rides in original trains that were used those 40 years ago.

Passengers (and history fans) had a unique chance to enjoy a ride in trains from the legendary Soviet series 81-71 that were fueled by coal. The vintage ride served the section between the stops of Dejvicka and Skalka and the staff operating the trains were even dressed in then uniforms.

Cool! Feel free to use any picture from my post https://steemit.com/cesky/@cryp1/trasa-a-prazskeho-metra-oslavila-ctyricitku. Would be better to use picture from Prague, if you want...

A few weeks ago we were talking about metro lines of Prague. If you remember it was another post of yours :-)

I usually read up on a topic that you post and then comment on it. During my research I came across a lot of great things about the metro. I really happy to see that I was right about the four decades of age of metro 😊

Its even better to see that they are bringing out the old machines for the people to enjoy. These old metro trains are basically a part of history now. Traveling in them is like traveling in time machine

You will never stop impressing me:).... Great job!

Thank you man!

Prague can be proud for its metro. I like its stations a lot.

We are very privileged to have such a great pubic transportation.

How did they take the newer trains off the rail and get the old ones on.

Hello Friend.
It must have been fun for the visitors to travel in those historic trains, well for the city and those events that entertain and educate their inhabitants a little

Such an awesome idea to use trains from when the lines were originally opened to celebrate the 40th anniversary - and that has to be the cleanest and best maintained underground station in the world! I also looked through @cryp1 photographs from the day - amazing seeing the original guard uniforms as well.
