Tensions Diffuse, Tensions Spike In Divided Mitrovica, Kosovo

Josh Friedman reports from a protest in North Mitrovica, Kosovo, where Serbs have gathered to demonstrate against Pristina not implementing the EU-brokered agreement on creating an Association of Serb Municipalities within Kosovo.

The protest comes amid a spike in tensions between Serbia and Kosovo, and KFOR (NATO) troops are out in force to keep the peace. Yet why does it simultaneously seem that tensions are diffusing in Mitrovica and the Serb and Albanian communities are getting along more?

    Thank you once again. Considering that the UK has troops there and some kids in Kosovo are named after Tony Blair, it might be worth keeping an eye on once in a while. As for the tensions, I wouldn't say they are dwindling. But I would say it seems like people on opposing sides are getting a bit tired of fighting with each other.

    Unfortunately our media is fairly poor at repoting anything of note hence the reason I don't watch it often. This is why we need people like you to report the real news. Getting tired of fighting is also a bonus 💯🐒
