How much did the military spend yesterday? $173 million
With only $173 million in defense contracts yesterday, the “big” winner was Lockheed Martin with half of that total, or about $90 million in a modification (increase) to an existing contract for... (wait for it)... “the identification and execution of cost reduction initiatives to reduce the cost of the F-35 Lightning II Air System.” That's right; the Navy is spending $90 million more to identify cost reduction “initiatives.” Yay, government.
