Stuck in its own trap

in #news6 years ago

United States started producing drug and smuggling in Afghanistan. The US government gave legitimacy to the illegal action by taking the shadow of Soviet opposition. Now the country is trapped in its trap.

According to The Guardian's report, the United States was the first to nose in Afghanistan during the Cold War. The CIA sponsored Afghanistan's militants to prevent the then Soviet Red Army. Since 1979, the CIA provided nearly $ 3 billion of weapons to the Mujahideen guerrillas for almost 10 years. At the same time local militants and separatists were encouraged to cultivate opiate. The United States had adopted this method to keep the Soviet army in the forefront. At the same time, the US government helped to create opiate production and heroin production. That time it has become tense now.

Since the attack in Afghanistan in October 2001, the United States has had to eat the fat to keep the Taliban repeatedly. The main reason for this is that the country's opiate-heroin production and smuggling could not be stopped. Afghanistan produced 180 tons of opiate a year before the US invasion in Afghanistan. But since the start of the attack, it reaches three thousand tons annually. In 2007, the amount increased further. The opium production was more than eight thousand tons per year. In 2017, it stood at nine thousand tons. Not only opium, Afghan drug traders involved in manufacturing and smuggling heroin and morphine. Almost 44 percent of the total crop production in Afghanistan is occupied by drug cultivation.

According to the United States and the United Nations, the amount of $ 100 billion to $ 350 million in the drug trade is estimated to be $ 25 million. Afghan drug dealers have a huge coalition. Taliban gives security to all the activities of this alliance. With this money the costs of guerrilla fighters of the Taliban were met and funding was done in full separatist activities. Run-Attack-Violence Bribes were also given to different level officials of the Afghan government to maintain drug production and smuggling.

Afghan foreign ministry chief M. Ashraf Haider told Politiko that the Taliban ran with money from the drug money. There is no salvation from the Taliban if this cycle is not broken. But this is not possible for the Afghan government alone to do this. Haider said that it is not possible for the Afghan government to face trial in Kabul after the arrest of drug dealers.
