Conor McGregor will be tried for assault

As they say, three years is not a term, but a life lesson. True, the Irish athlete faces much less. But apparently, I still have to spend some time in the dungeons.

In less than a week, Conor McGregor will appear before the District Court in Dublin. The reason for the meeting was the incident that occurred this spring.

Recall that in April of this year a mixed-style fighter appeared in one of Dublin's pubs, where he began to treat all the gathered whiskeys of his own brand. An elderly man at the bar refused to drink a UFC fighter's drink. However, the Irishman was persistent and, despite the refusal, filled a glass of a whimsical stranger of venerable age. But he stood his ground: he pushed the athlete's glass aside. In response, McGregor hit the man with a hand in the head.

“He stabbed me in the head. She was sick for a week. But there is no threat to my life or anything like that, ”the victim said.

“I don't like this man. He is a bully. A bully who has money, ”admitted a man beaten by McGregor.
According to information from the Irish media, the athlete will be charged with an attack for which the maximum penalty is imprisonment for up to six months and a fine of one and a half thousand euros.

If Conor receives the maximum punishment provided for his act, then the return to the octagon planned for the end of this year will have to be postponed indefinitely.
