LHOKSUKON - Families of suspected drug cases in North Aceh are urged to be aware of fraud via cell phone carried out unscrupulously on behalf of police officers. The caller usually asks for IDR 20 million to IDR 40 million with the lure of reducing the sentence until the suspect is released.

This was conveyed by North Aceh Police Chief AKBP Ian Rizkian Milyardin, through the Criminal Investigation Division AKP Ildani Ilyas to portalsatu.com, Thursday, June 21, 2018. Ildani said that the fraud mode was already very troubling.

After the drug suspect was arrested, we always reminded his family, if there was an incoming call on my behalf and the investigator to ask for money, so it would not be responded to or ignored. That is a fraud that takes advantage of the moment with the lure of suspects free after transferring some money, said Ildani.

Ildani explained, to convince the suspect's family, the caller usually asks to prepare a photocopy of the family card (KK) three sheets, a photocopy of KTP three sheets and a six-sheet stamp.

Some families report this. This is actually the old mode. In the past when I served in East Aceh in 2015-2016, fraud in the same way also took victims from the families of drug suspects we arrested. Once a suspect's family transferred up to Rp. 20 million. After we check, it turns out that the destination account is a Jakarta domicile. During my assignment in North Aceh, at the end of 2017 this mode occurred up to a dozen times. After a time to subside, now it starts again, said Ildani.

Ildani continued, some time ago two families of suspected marijuana cases who were responded to in Lhoksukon, North Aceh, June 4-5 told someone who was calling and asking for IDR 20 million and IDR 30 million. Callers promise free suspects. After that followed the family of three suspected cases of methamphetamine who were arrested in Tanah Jambo Aye, North Aceh, June 6, and other families of cases of methamphetamine captured in Trieng Matang Ubi Village, Lhoksukon.

Ildani appealed to the suspect's family not to be easily heard, provoked or believed by the telephone request. It is better to contact or go directly to the investigator, invisible, or even the police chief to check the truth.

So far no one has met directly with the caller. It was strongly suspected that there were monitors around us, given that every suspect we arrested, someone immediately called his family, including calling the geuchik where the suspect lived. Even the incident happened when the caller also knew when the suspect's family came to the North Aceh Police Station. That is, the caller is around us or there is at least an accomplice here. We are still investigating, said Ildani.

Ildani added, news about the arrest of many drug cases was broadcast in online media, which made it easier for anyone to access it and not only limited in print media.

We estimate that the person calling is aware of an arrest from online media. About how the person knows the geuchik telephone number or the village head, I think it was taken through the village fund application online too. Usually the person contacted the geuchik to request the suspect's family phone number on behalf of me (invisible) and investigator. I confirm, this is my telephone number 081361600105, besides that it is not my number, said AKP Ildani Ilyas.
