In addition to accommodating a large number of open source projects, it is one of the reference sites for developers around the world. Already in 2015, the company was valued at 2,000 million dollars.

Anyway, the company has not gone through its best in recent years . Chris Wanstrath, co-founder and former CEO of GitHub, left his post in August 2017. Since then, they have had trouble finding a successor to help the service continue to grow.

Business Insider pointed a few days ago that one of the requirements to carry out this purchase is that Microsoft allowed them to continue operating as before and respect their independence . Now that this agreement has been made official, we must pay attention to all the details.
