Welcome to the 50th State of the Sndbox newsletter!

This past week, we talked about Plantoids and the Digital Objects marketplace. We also gave you the complete array of exhibit posters, the final look of our DApp Tower and Donor Wall, and our SteepShot Selfie Station as we are days away from the launch of The Crypto Renaissance Exhibition.

A Healthier Art World Powered by Blockchain

We discussed the blockchain community's skyrocketing attention on the art world with the Digital Objects team based in Downtown Los Angeles. An emerging company looking to mobilize on the positive effects of decentralization, Digital Objects is a marketplace for young artists, collectors, and gallerists. A peek into the team's background tells us about their anticipation of the ERC-721 standard -- also known as non-fungible tokens (NFT) that establish the authenticity and, most importantly, scarcity of digital items. The team innovates to address the pain points in areas of creative practice and industry, as they foresee a creative future for artists and collectors alike.

The Crypto Renaissance - Steepshot Selfie Station

The exhibition at the 1st Floor Gallery of 100 Bogart Street in Brooklyn, starting on July 20 (7pm), will feature large scale boards that document Sndbox community projects and Steem apps active across the blockchain. It is the prime opportunity to showcase the tools and resources built for creative professionals on the Steem blockchain and their integration in the practice and daily work of @sndbox members. An interactive centerpiece, the DAPP Tower, will feature Steem apps that visitors can browse in real time.

Hard at work, the team released the plans for the Steepshot exhibition board and Selfie station. Steepshot is a photography-based social media application where photography enthusiasts earn cryptocurrency by publishing their images directly onto the Steem blockchain. Our Steepshot Selfie station will be leveraging on the @exhibition account, wherein a smart tablet will log in visitors, giving a unique insight to the event happenings, and will provide support to the cost of the exhibition.

The Crypto Renaissance - Donor Wall

The Crypto Renaissance exhibition will feature Steemit personalities that were crucial to provide the means for this event to come to fruition. We thank our Exhibition Donors for their contribution with a fabulous portrait and the donor name which will be included in future documentation of the exhibition. Art and explanation panel orders are under way and NYC's major magazines and blogs have been alerted of this one of a kind Crypto Exhibit.

Again, we thank our donors for their generosity and support of this exhibition project! The Crypto Renaissance - DApp Tower Design

We give you a preview of the renderings for the Steem DApp Tower Installation that contains open source posters and an educational showcase for Steem applications. 19 artists will also be featured alongside their original Steem-inspired artwork from the Crypto Art & Design Challenge that we recently hosted.

Feed Your Bitcoin to a Plantoid

We put a spotlight on this classic project and its creator, Primavera de Filippi, a researcher at the National Center of Scientific in Paris, France.

A Plantoid is an autonomous blockchain-based life form that is the model of a plant, robots that are meant to replicate the life of a plant. The autonomous and self-sufficient Plantoid cannot be bought or owned. Instead, people that fund various forms of Plantoids will obtain different rights and obligations as Funders and Producers. As the Plantoid receives Bitcoin donations, it gives back to the Plantoid where it originated, rewarding the original creator for making a compelling Plantoid version that attracted enough investment to create additional offspring.
