US President Donald Trump said that the return of the Crimea to the Russian Federation was allowed by his predecessor Barack Obama. According to the FOX News channel, thus the head of the White House answered the question about the possibility of recognizing the peninsula as Russian.

The American leader believes that you need to ask Obama why he allowed it.

Crimea became part of Russia in 2014, when the majority of the peninsula residents voted in favor of reunification with the Russian Federation in a referendum. Ukraine did not recognize the results of the vote and still considers the region its own.
