'Rebuilding The Military' - The Lies Of The Military Industrial Complex

Welcome to The Daily Wrap Up, a concise show dedicated to bringing you the most relevant independent news, as we see it, from the last 24 hours (6/3/18).

Americans are constantly sold this idea that the US needs to "rebuild the military," but few actually stop and analyze the claim. Most are far too consumed day to day with petty two-party politics and whichever moral outrage distraction story has been concocted or pushed forward in a given moment. Despite the very easily verifiable fact that the US currently spends more on its military than the next 9 countries combined, and in total accounts for more than half of the world's total military spending, we are fed this line about how we somehow need to rebuild an institution that is already grossly overfunded and over prepared. 

As if that blunt and undeniable fact were not evident enough, a point that was recently brought to my attention by a viewer, is that in total there are 41 aircraft carriers in existence -- that we know of -- and of those 41, the US owns 20, with another 15 currently in the works. The nation with the next closest amount is Japan with only 4. The big bad scary threat that is always used to gin up more support for this type of spending, the Russians, only have 1; China, only has 1. The US even recently used the Russian fleet as an excuse to justify spending more on its Navy, knowing full well that most Americans would never even take the time to look into the claim. How is this the case? How can this be justified? How have Americans become so complacent and apathetic that we allow our tax dollars to continue to fund unnecessary military indulgences that only benefit these massive munitions corporations and the politicians that lie to keep them bloated and flush? 

The answer is quite simple. It has been deemed "un-American," by those who stand to gain the most with this orchestrated direction, to call attention to the wasteful military spending, to call attention to the endless war that is carried out in the name of freedom and democracy, while delivering neither. And the mindless supporters, who always scream the loudest yet think the least, yell down anyone pointing out the obvious and speaking reason, as some monster who does not "support the troops."

This is propaganda plain and simple, but the facade is wavering. Decades of failed interventions and countries laid to waste have made that lie next to impossible to maintain, which is why they are desperate to manufacture the next big threat, the next scare tactic to shift attentions away from the obvious lies. Yet, ISIS has been exposed as a western proxy, so its cover is blown, and Russia does not seem to be cutting it, which should make us wonder, in their desperation, what will they manufacture next?
