Welcome to The Daily Wrap Up, a concise show dedicated to bringing you the most relevant independent news, as we see it, from the last 24 hours (6/5/19).
So here we have the crux of the issue in the West today. We are talking about exposing crimes committed by the very people who are responsible for deciding what is and what is not a “classified secret” or a “national security threat” as well as those behind the creation of new laws themselves. So in the event that these are the very individuals who are guilty of a crime, what does one do? What does one do when this guilty individual champions a law or classification that makes it illegal to expose the crime they committed?
What if the very person deeming a subject a national security issue, and telling you that you cannot talk about it or else you will go to jail, is the very person committing the crime? What if this powerful individual makes it so that if you reveal their crimes, you will go to jail for doing so? What then, in today's political world, is a journalist supposed to do? It is the sacred duty of any legitimate journalist to speak truth to power. So when one finds themselves in this position (as is becoming more and more commonplace for journalists) they are left with essentially two options; they can either expose the crime, and be persecuted for doing so, potentially losing everything, or they can choose to ignore the crime altogether, which was the intended result.
Honestly ask yourself, what does one do in this situation other than ignore the crime, which a dereliction of their duty, or do their job and go to jail? In this dynamic powerful people will simply no longer be held accountable... Well gee, that sure sounds a lot like what is going on today. Worse yet, this is an issue not address in any way today, and for a very obvious reason in my opinion.. it's part of the plan. These powerful people, at all costs, avoid accountability. So looking the other way as one of their counterparts abuses their position and manipulates the law, is expected, so they too can do so if the need arises.
There is this absurd air of altruism that has been cast over any western so-called “democracy” by default. As if they are not capable of being deceptive or criminal because they are working with the US. If you are in the good graces of the US empire, then you are a "good" democracy. But if you don’t do what you are told, as Pompeo out it, you are not a “normal nation.” But, the fact is, that some of the worst atrocities of our time have been committed or orchestrated by these same western powers, even covered up and endlessly lied about, and here we are discussing why these same crimes cannot be revealed because, "national security."
They want to plant in your head that if you are in power, you are already correct. Might is right. To the victor go the spoils. Where have we heard that lately? What a time we are in, as our society, led by the worst among us, sprint in the wrong direction.
