Although there are many online wallets and places to store your cryptocurrencies, so far the safest are cold wallets or hardware where you can store your tokens outside the network without the risk of losing your investment. The best known cold wallets are Leger, Trezor and cool wallet but there is an alternative that surpasses all the previous ones and is Ellipal.

Ellipal

Ellipal is the cold storage wallet that comes to revolutionize the possession of cryptocurrencies, it is used through a mobile application, so it does not need to be connected to a computer, all you need is a smartphone and the Ellipal device, it connects by scanning the QR Code quickly and easily.

ELLIPAL provide new firmware updates to users once a month. Update contains new features and new coins for users to enjoy. If your coin is not in the list, let us know it our Telegram group!

This device has the appearance of a mobile phone, it has a 4-inch color touch screen, so it has a very pleasant user interface, a feature that is not present in any wallet of this type.

The case is resistant plastic against any physical abuse, it has a 5MP camera on the back which is used to scan the QR code of the application on your smartphone

According to the manufacturer, the battery can hold up to 650 hours of charging in standby mode and is fully charged in 90 minutes, something really surprising, the device has a port that is used only to charge the battery and does not support data exchange.

Mode of use

To start using Ellipal, you just have to press and hold the power button for a few seconds, once the device is activated you will proceed to the language selection. You will then be asked to download the iOS or Android application. To do this, scan the QR code displayed or visit the page: http://wallet.ellipal.com/downapp. Then you must proceed to create a new wallet, or import an old one through a backup or import only a private key.

The device, upon receiving a new wallet will proceed to create a new account, then request the type of account where you must choose between the different currencies, once this step is finished you must establish an account name and a long and secure password. Writing the backup is an important part of the configuration process. Finally, you must generate and save the recovery seed, a key composed of 12 words.

Advantages

Some features that make ELLIPAL unique and that place it one step ahead of the aforementioned Leger, Trezor and cool wallet are:

The 4-inch color touch screen that allows you to perform actions quickly and easily, the security feature that stands out in contrast to other wallets is that Ellipal has no physical connection to any computer, which keeps it without physical connection to Internet, the only interface for data exchange is a slot for a micro SD card through which updates to the device are introduced. In addition to the account password, there is also the possibility to configure a gesture password, which takes Ellipal to another level in security matters.

It's basically a one-task smartphone. Not sure if this is a real advance in mass adoption, as people prefer to use their own smartphone for this kind of thing. Most people aren't as security-crazy as your everyday crypto-guy. But it's an alternative to the usual physical wallets.

Yep... I would never buy something like this. But it might have other users that would find this beneficial.

We forget that most people don’t know yet about crypto.

What I think is that those who don't know crypto will largely prefer their own good old smartphone with twitter, Facebook, their ultra-high res photos of their cat, and eventually some universal wallet app if they found crypto somewhere.

Still I think there is a market for those, as there is a lot of people who are already in crypto and that are obsessed with crypto-security, those people would buy such devices, a lot. Especially since ledger has made a lot of discontent people recently with I don't remember which bug again.

Have fun :)

In some extend... I agree... but people that are obsessed with security... if they don't care to know about it... its the same as buying a Ferrari and then going on the dunes, when a sleeper car for 1% of that money can do about 1000% better with the same amount =)

Ahaha. I laughed a good time at this. It reminds me of someone I once met who had a Ferrari but never dared to take it out of the garage. It's kinda the same with crypto. If you have to build military-grade defenses around your house because of crypto, you should probably just put your ledger in a bank safe instead lol.

I realized that I wasn't following you, that's now corrected. It's fun to e-meet you :)

I am a sleeper user =)

I'm only in Steem for now, so I'd need a holly number of posts & comments before I need to build such security over my account anyways.

I see you are around project.hope too?

I am helping where I can... I am a divergent species...

It's a very sensitive subject.

It generates some stress to get a safe place to keep your savings.

It's good to know that someone you trust will make these kinds of recommendations!

Excellent friend. I imagine the combination of that wallet installed in the cell phone that you announced in a publication of a cell phone that I liked very much ..

But there on the crypto list I miss Steem.

@fucho80, Good to know about this Wallet. Most importantly now we don't lack options, there are many effective wallets and now this one made the list more effective. Stay blessed brother.

Hi @fucho80

I've never heard about Ellipal and I will probably never end up using it, since all my resources (in crypto) are stored safely on STEEM blockchain :)

However I still found this post valuable, so upvote on the way :) Catch.
Yours, Piotr
