In Darksiders Warmastered Edition we will embody Guerra, one of the four Rider of the Apocalypse charged with watching over Divine Justice, which is sent to Earth in response to the final battle between Heaven and Hell. The Rider is ambushed and is accused by the Abrased Council of advancing the Apocalypse. As a penance for his crime, he must clear his name and look for the real culprits who have condemned the world of men.

The story of Darksiders Warmastered Edition is still a great adventure with some memorable moments and some cinematics that have endured the guy very well. It stands out especially in the construction of characters, both main and secondary, who continue to maintain charisma thanks to their strong inspiration in Christian mythology. We cannot say the same about the variety and extension of the world, since we are facing a fairly linear title and the passing of the years denotes the void and lifelessness of its open parts. Despite this, it is still a delight to tour his universe on the back of Ruin, soak up his argument and discover all the secrets that hide the more than 15 hours of main adventure. Also, we will have four different levels of difficulty in case we want to replay any time.

Although the story is not as surprising as in 2010, the gameplay is still magnificent, combining scenario exploration, puzzle solving and hack and slash style action. We must help Guerra recover his powers and weapons by defeating the most powerful demons in each area. The diversity is very rich and reminiscent of the most classic chapters of The Legend of Zelda series, since each scenario is presented as a great dungeon that we have to complete to continue the story. We will make use of all available Rider skills: jumping platforms, moving objects, sliding over projections, etc.

Guerra manages his powerful sword called Devora Chaos with which he performs movements of all kinds. Depending on the combination, we will be able to execute fast but weak blows, others slow but very powerful or even grab the enemy. Moving forward in the game, we will get new weapons, such as a shuriken that returns to the hands of Guerra after launching it, a gun that allows us to attack enemies at a distance or a specialized scythe to fight against several adversaries at once. The option of combining different types of weapons is tremendously satisfactory, allowing Guerra to develop authentic choreographies in combat.

In the graphic finish much more detailed and ambitious than that embodied in the original. And taking into account how good the original game looked thanks to the wonderful aesthetic line it presented, the improvements included further highlight this work.

It is a luxury to enjoy 1080p native and 60 stable frames per second in the versions for PS4, Xbox One and PC (this delivery will appear in a few days, by the way), although in the edition for Wii U (which will arrive later) the Frame rate will stay at 30.
