In the current bear market, it is not surprising to see that many people have gone into panic. Some hurriedly sold their crypto holdings to salvage perceived loss. Some used Dollar backed tokens such as Tether (USDT), True USD or USDcoin to shore their value, and some simply went into hibernation determined to HODL till they see a ray of hope.

The Steemit community has been hit quite hard. With prices falling to less than a third of the value of a dollar, many people are simply discouraged. Some of them were hardly getting the kind of upvotes (earning the kind of rewards) they felt they deserved so this dip was simply a convenient excuse to leave/abandon the platform.
