When her Aunty kike suggested a short vacation with her in Lagos, Labake was sure her parents will kick against it since they are so protective but they said yes without any fuss.

They left for the city the following day, they got there late in the night so she was unable to see how the city look like.

Being from a small village, Labake never realise how enormous the city is so she decided to tour Lagos as soon as her Aunt left for work the following morning.

She walked for more than ten minutes but the city centre seemed to be no nearer.

She was about to turn around and head home when she saw some people rushing into a yellow bus with "Charity Transport" painted on its side so she eagerly followed the crowd in and the bus was soon on its way.

There was a sudden tap on her shoulder, and she turned around, 'where to? ", demanded the conductor, his hand stretched out for the bus fare.

But... But.. But i thought it was free! ', stammered Labake. 'This is Charity Bus, isn't it?

The dark look on the conductor's face and the loud laugh of the other passengers was enough for Labake to realise her mistake.

"Ara oko! ', shouted the conductor. You must be new to Lagos, aren't you? You will find nothing here is free! The transport fare is #50."

"But i have no money on me, 'said Labake, feeling very small.

The conductor stared at her long and hard with his blood shot eyes.

'Alright, 'he said at last. 'You can alight at the cement bus-stop. That's the next stop'.

Feeling very fooling very foolish, Labake thanked him.

It was a long way back to Aunty Kike's house.
