Hello to all dear friends, from the tenth century BC the Etruscans began to populate Italy Ancient central-northern.

They were a people, whose origins are among the most debated in history, but which I will discuss in the next topic.
What I would like to highlight today is their great ability as builders, cities fortified by impregnable walls and their invention of a round arch, used in the four entrances to their cities.

These constructive techniques, which most likely acquire, as usual from the Greeks, also make explicit in the construction of roads and in the famous Tagliata, which are not those slices of beef cooked in the blood.
The Tagliata or hollow ways are artificial openings obtained by cutting the rock and above all the tuff.
These artificial roads are very mysterious, and most scholars believe that they are sacred and sacrificial paths and have nothing to do with the carriage.
These places, today are considered real monuments, and around them are told many stories of mysteries and sacrifices.
Along their few tens or hundreds of meters you can observe engraved crosses, niches and tabernacles engraved in the tufa stone or in the calcareous rock, which increase the mysterious charm that hovers around these archaeological sites.
They are considered as places where the Earth emanates vital energy, precisely because they are immersed in deep gorges and mixed with woods.

In my watercolor I tried to convey the effect of rock vibrations and the element of matter.
The moss and the vegetation are joined to the rocks generating a natural fusion, where only the road in red earth gives us a sense of terrain.

Ciao a tutti cari amici, dal X secolo a.c gli Etruschi cominciarono a popolare l'Italia Antica centro-settentrionale.
Essi furono un popolo, le cui origini sono tra le più dibattute della storia, ma che affronterò in prossimo argomento.
Quello che oggi mi preme evidenziare, fu la loro grande capacità di costruttori, di città fortificate da mura inespugnabili e dalla loro invenzione dell'arco a tutto sesto, usato nelle 4 entrate alle loro città.

Queste tecniche costruttive che, molto probabilmente acquisiscono, come al solito dai greci, le esplicitano anche nella costruzione di strade e nelle famose Tagliate, che non sono quelle fette di manzo cotte al sangue.
Le tagliate o vie cave sono delle aperture artificiali ottenute tagliando la roccia e soprattutto il tufo.
Queste strade artificiali, sono molto misteriose, e la maggior parte degli studiosi ritengono che esse siano dei percorsi sacri e sacrificali e nulla hanno a che fare con la carrabilità.
Questi luoghi, oggi vengono considerati dei veri e propri monumenti, ed intorno ad essi si raccontano molte storie di misteri e sacrifici.
Lungo le loro poche decine o centinaia di metri si possono osservare, incise nella pietra tufacea o nella roccia calcarea croci uncinate, nicchie e tabernacoli che accrescono il fascino misterioso che aleggia intorno a questi siti archeologici.
Sono considerati come luoghi dove la Terra emana energia vitale, proprio per il fatto che sono immersi dentro gole profonde e miste a boschi.

Nel mio acquarello ho cercato di trasmettere l'effetto delle vibrazioni delle rocce e l'elemento della materia.
Il muschio e la vegetazione si uniscono alle rocce generando una fusione naturale, dove solo la stradina in terra rossa ci procura un senso di terreno.
