Treasure Within - Easy how to craft

Hello friends!
Today I would like to share how I made this stitch. This is the part 1, I’ll show part by part until it is well done. This would be a treasure map in cross stitch, but then you can modify it into any craft things.

Materials needed, for this part one:
• Cross stitch fabrics (natural color)
• Cross stitch needle
• Embroidery Threads (cream, medium gold brown, brown, green and light green)
• Embroidery hoop also needed if your fabrics is too soft

Steps:
First I would like to make the backstitch for the outside line with brown thread. Use 2 strains of the thread. Make backstitch one by one, like what I showed in the photo. From one hole to another on the side, don’t make a long backstitch (it makes it unstraight & not good). I stitch from down to upper part.

Second step, after finished all the outside border. Cross stitch with 2 strains of cream thread, on the top.

Third, backstitch with green for outside of the islands.

Fourth, backstitch with brown color for the word “treasure within”, complete it with the french knot for the i dots. You could check my other article of how I made the french knot in my past article:

Fifth, cross stitch for inside of the island’s border line with light green thread.

Tips: All the backstich are using 2 strains of the thread. To make it easier you could try to make the border line from 2 different side (for the easiest calculation).
