Stop Xenophobia - Every Life Matters
I don't want to say bad or condemn any nation or group of people. But this uprising issue I'm hearing and the videos of violence happening in South Africa is getting out of hand. There have been xenophobic attack in South Africa for a couple of days now - mostly against Nigerian residing over there.
How a black man (a South-African) is attacking another black man (a Nigerian) because he is in his country hustling more than him is what I can't comprehend. Is that greed or jealousy? Even if there are those are doing something bad as they claimed, why attacking the innocent ones as well?
The businesses of many Nigerians in South Africa have been destroyed, looted or burnt in the past week since xenophobic attacks resumed in the country against foreign nationals. Some even have the gots to claim that foreigners steal their jobs. Source
The killing and Massacre is becoming too much and I hope the governments of both countries would do something about it. They have been dumbed without having any clue of what to do.
I believe the problem here is not the Nigerians, it's the lazy South Africans' who have some weird sense of entitlement, refuse to work and then get pissed at Nigerians who make a successful living over there, We might have our own wrongs, but so does every nation of the world.
I read about how Nigeria government spent about $61BN to free South Africa from apartheid and now am asking is this what they will use to pay us back? Source
Even though Nigeria has been doomed and dwindling for so many years due to bad governance and greedy people in the government who have been elected occasionally, that doesn't mean the country will remain the same. I strongly believe good things will come out of this nation when the time comes. I will always remain positive and hope for the best for my nation.
It's never a crime to be a STRONG hustler. Brothers in South Africa stay VIGILANT.

Fear. It is fear of the "other" that drives xenophobia. It's economic fear, cultural purity fear, political dominance fear… fear of being made smaller and/or less relevant. It always comes down to fear and needing someone to put any face on those fears other than the one truly responsible – the one looking back from the mirror.
You are right. The fear of being taken over by others have engulfed them.

You absolutely right. Jungle justice should not in any way be the best solution for them even if one has gone against their laws, rules and regulations. I believe they have courts and lawyers there as well as police to do the needful.

116 Nigerian lives in 3 years! Yet I've only recently stated hearing about this. I wonder if I would even have heard anything on our news. It's crazy how we can turn on one another so easily.
