Opposing Houses / Beauty

These skyscrapers stand in an outside district of prague, one of the beautiful cities in europe. For me fit perfectly for the "Opposing Beauty Photography" Contest by ntopaz.

On the photo the opposing houses are revealed as an abstract, geometric structure that fit aesthetically into the frame. The other photo shows the tristesse and monotony that doesn't look like a place to live in.

Prefabricated buildings were an answer for housing shortage or designs of planned cities but often they developed to socially disadvantaged urban areas or satellites with a lack of diversity of function and infrastructure.

As a photographer this housing areas reveals the coexistence of beauty and tristesse in a very honest way. In my oppinion they are always part of each other - an opposing couple.

Diese Wolkenkratzer stehen in einem Randbezirk von Prag, einer der schönsten Städte in Europa. Meiner Meinung nach passen sie perfekt für den "Opposing Beauty Photography" Contest von ntopaz.

Auf dem ersten Foto sind die gegenüberliegenden Riesen als abstrakte geometrische Struktur inszeniert, die sich ästhetisch in den Rahmen fügen. Auf dem zweiten Blick sieht man die Tristesse und Monotonie, die alles andere als wohnlich und gemütlich wirkt.

Plattenbauten waren eine wirksame Antwort auf Wohnungsnot und Ergebnis von Planstädten. Sie entwickelten sich jedoch oft in sozial benachteiligte urbane Räume oder Satellitenstädte mit einem Mangel and Vielfalt von Funktion und Infrastruktur.

Als Fotograf offenbart diese Plattenbausiedlung die Koexistenz von Schönheit und Tristesse als sehr interessantes Spannungsfeld. Für mich gehören diese beiden Pole zusammen - ein gegensätzliches Paar
