[CO] "Ammonite Necklace"
Hello! My work for the Gif Contest- "Ammonite Necklace"
Ammonites - fossil, possessing the typically ribbed spiral-form shell which somewhat resemble tightly coiled rams' horns. These creatures lived in the seas between 240 - 65 million years ago and they became extinct along with the dinosaurs.
Egyptians named this fossil after their God, Ammon.
In medieval Europe, fossilised ammonites were thought to be petrified coiled snakes, and were called "snakestones" or, more commonly in medieval England, "serpentstones".
The any side of this fossil is naturally iridescent, giving it a beautiful look.
I created the frame with beads for this cabochon and combinet it with big beads.

It's a beautiful piece of jewelry. I like how you followed the natural pattern. The colors are very nice too. It makes me think of summer vacation :) It would be a little too expressive piece for me but I am sure that there are many women who would enjoy wearing it :) I'm usually walking around with no jewelry :)
