From the big Pied Crows to the small Wagtails, all the birds are now frantically building nests.

Interestingly they have to birth their young as soon as possible in order for the young to build up strength during summer and autumn, as this will allow the young to survive during the following winter season.
All of the new-born that will survive the patrolling predators of course, as the predators have to also feed their own young to gain strength for the winter season.
The Spring season officially starts in South Africa on the 1st day of September.

Here I will show you some more beautiful early Spring signs!

IMG_2107.JPG

Insects galore on this little flower as the ants seek the sweetness and the little guy at left wants the pollen.

IMG_2103.JPG

Here we have a kind of a flying ant on a wild clover flower!

A white Papillon (butterfly) on a red Bottle-brush seed pod!

IMG_5580.JPG

A Garden Acrea also on the Bottle-brush tree!

And finally a view of African trees and of course African mountains!

Spring season will soon be upon us, bringing with it new blooms and new life. A most colorful season over here with a host of new born and all other kinds of insects. I look forward to the Citrus Swallowtail butterflies and maybe I will get a rare Charaxes again. I am also waiting to see if I can get a Dwarf Chameleon on camera.
Any case, I am sure many new sightings are going to make an appearance here at our new place and it is certainly something to look forward to.
A new season, new beginnings and a new life, for them and for us!

We hope that you have enjoyed the photos and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity

Your title made me stop to think for just a moment......spring? Then it dawned on me your not in the northern hemisphere and of course, it's spring! Very nice photos. Thank you for sharing.

Glad that you understand the differences between the North pole and the South pole my friend.
I am getting a bit tired explaining it to people.
Blessings and thank you!

that first bird is so so so so pretty

Ah! And also a very cheeky bird Vibi.
They are masters in the air and fight with most of the other birds.
Blessings!

Such beautiful signs of spring, I always find it funny how your heading into spring and we are heading into Autumn

Thank you JJ.
I often wonder how the flat world promoters would have understood this phenomenon.
Did they think that the sun circles a flat world?
How then would it be winter and summer at different places at the same time?
Luckily we understand the distances between the North and the South poles and we have also determined the equator line on a round planet.
Blessings!

Most welcome my friend, Ohh dont get me started on flat earthers, I could have a good long rant and go over the line of being nice as I am having a bad day so I will leave it at that LOL

Lets just say we do agree on the fact that the world is a globe and not a saucer of whatever they think it is LOL

Gorgeous 💖💕🤗

Thank you my friend.
I think that I should introduce you to @veryspider as maybe she can help to get you more votes.
Your photos are indeed very good!
Spidey, what do you think?
Blessings!

Thank you for being so kind. That would be lovely. Although I have been posting on steemit, I've just started using Partiko and I like the engagement. Summer holidays now until September 2, so I can skim through posts etc, once school starts, I get busy. Still waiting for my voting power to rise, taking forever 😊

My pleasure to help and I am afraid that your voting power will stay lethargic, as steem is down low at present.
Once school starts? Are you a teacher then?
I have not tried Partiko yet, but many of my friends use it.
Blessings!

Sad voting power 😃.
Yes, I am a SEN teacher, children with special needs. Partiko works well. You have a great relaxed weekend 🙏

Oh! We have supported a few special needs schools at our old place and also helped some of their students with computer literacy.
Since we moved here into another province recently, we still have to find places that need help.
May your weekend also be good!
Blessings!

And yours too.

I just cannot believe that Spring is upon us - jeez this year flew by. I think I missed winter somewhere.

Spring is indeed upon us my friend.
We too had no snow on the mountain peaks this winter, but thankfully much rain.
Time does indeed fly nowadays.
Blessings and thank you!

I love that pink and white flower photograph. What is it? It's strange thinking of spring beginning in September, and it was strange being in the South Pacific for winter too!

Thank you my friend.
I think the little pink and white flower is one type of the wild clover flowers, as they all grow together in different colors.
Yeah in many parts of the world winter is approaching, while here in the deep southern part of the world spring is approaching.
Blessings!

It doesn’t look like a clover to me, but more like a poppy or open tulip. The clovers I know, don’t have a center where you can see the pistils etc.

I think that I will have a look for it on Google my friend.
I am better at butterfly, dragonfly and bird names that what I am at flower names.
Let me see if I can find out what it is.
Blessings!

That’s ok. We’re not all good at everything !!

Some of our early spring is showing with certain trees orange with fresh leaves appearing, nature always presents herself in different ways, most relate fall with colours, ours happens in spring.

Wagtails have been very busy Stephen all in preparation of spring, which I don't really look forward to, winter is much more comfortable in Durban.

We are certainly going to fry again this summer Lady Joan and we will have our first 27 degree day next week.
Your sub-tropical climate will certainly deliver beautiful colours.
I remember some of them when we worked on the electrical line from Durban to the Alusaf smelter near Richards Bay.
Such a pity that I was not a photographer at that time.
Blessings!

Durban hit 28 deg C yesterday ridiculous for this time of the year, I have only had my own cameras in the last 10 years, husband always had a good camera with lenses, I was too busy bringing up the children, looking after animals, working and sorting out a home.

Owning a film camera the developing was expensive (he did some developing in black and white of his own), so not many taken even though it was a big Olympus. He later got digital with lenses in a Canon which with crime became a problem, always photo's out there you regret not taking, such is life.

Crime is indeed a great hassle Lady Joan and I have also had some issues, but took care of them.
Marian's uncle also had a dark room for developing, but I had 3 kids and an ex-wife to support and never had time for any photography.
18 Years later, I had another ex-wife and a step-daughter that I put through school and university and I recently baptized both of her lovely little boys. So now in my final marriage, I have put myself out to pasture and enjoy taking photos.
Strange life isn't it?
Blessings!

One chapter closes the next begins, life is indeed strange we never know what is around the next corner.

So true Lady Joan!
The issue is that if we were to know what tomorrow holds, we will surely try to influence, or corrupt it into our own favour!
Blessings!

Oh my goodness, spring is certainly in the air @papilloncharity :) Such beautiful flowers and insects, and those mountains! The majesty of it all, what a blessing to be able to witness it. Great shots, blessings to you and Marian in your new home!

Thank you for such a great comment my friend.
You that continue to entice my tongue with your great recipes.
Maybe you should put together a "Birds Recipe Book"?
Blessings to the Birds.
