Blobcat in progress

Hi everyone! It is almost a week since my last post so I felt like posting something to show you I'm still alive :D

I'm kind of focused more on real life and creating than posting. Well I like posting here because it feels more genuine than other social media. Fakebook and Instagram are more like a popularity contest than it is about the art itself...People connect or follow more to be seen than really care which is a shame but also reflects the real world somehow.

Anyway I have been working on this one and wanted to show some more progress. I'm still tweaking with color and lines. The left half is the part I'm working on and the right half is an older version but eventually I will mirror the left to the right. Not all of it but we will see. For this post I decided to leave the right part an older version :) My goal is to make it a shirt design eventually.

It is all hand drawn with my loyal wacom cintiq 13HD. I really wish I could use it on a couch or not connected to a computer it would really improve my workflow. Looked for mobile versions but they are insanely expensive.

Sorry if I don't comment or upvote much I'm just so busy creating or reloading batteries or lived by life. I don't use any auto upvote bots because it doesn't feel right to me. I just check out my feed once in a while or look people up and check the posts and upvote.

Thank you all for commenting and all the love I get here on this platform!

Compositionally perfect. Bizarre somewhat cute :)) I wonder why your work is so smooth even you draw a not ordinary image as a model of yours. But I guess that is your talent. Show us more ~

Thank you very much for your kind words @trueimagine!

Great job!! I love symmetry, but not a perfect symmetry like in your picture...we exist thanks to the symmetry breaking between matter and antimatter. The perfection doesn't work, the imperfection instead create motion and the continuous becoming of things that tend to became perfect. When perfection will be achieved everything will cease to exist, but probably this will never happen!! :)
Have a good day! Bye

Thank you very much! Wow that are some deep thoughts :D

This is really lovely, Sander :D One that is VERY much a signature style to you <3 I love the faces, of course, and your clean line art and your stylish blues-and-greens <3

I love all the little details in how you designed this, too :D Like the face that makes the nose of the blobby kitty :D :D :D So wonderful~

Thank you very much @veryspider!

"Like the face that makes the nose"
I'm not sure if you see a different cat as the one I created in blue in the middle has no nose. Maybe you see a different cat or you mean something else? It is possible to see a lot in it so I was curious :)

Looking good. They're still kind of expensive, but have you thought about an iPad with an apple pencil and Affinity Designer? I also hear Adobe is working on Photoshop and illustrator apps for the iPad too, but Affinity programs are just as good in my opinion.

Posted using Partiko Android

Thanks! Yes I did look at that option. The problem is that I would like for instance work on my pc desk and after a while disconnect it and go on with same project somewhere else. It is possible with a wacom mobile pro to connect and disconnect but you have to sell your soul for that. I also heard that ipad is good but not as good like Wacom. I checked so many reviews I kind of stopped now lol. If I was already working on an Apple the jump would probably easier and also could match the software between desktop and ipad.

Yeah there is pretty much a compromise either way you go. The only apple product I have is my iPad - everything else is PC and Android. I am able to jump from Affinity Designer/Photo on the iPad to the same program on my PC without too much hassle, though. I just save things to google drive. I might start something on the iPad (while laying on the couch) and then finish it off on the computer because I have more fonts and a little better control for the vector curve handles with a mouse; although the Apple Pencil is quite easy to use for this as well.

I have been investigating a lot. What I really need is a stabilizer too (I use lazy nezumi) to avoid frustration. I saw it's lacking on procreate but there is one in clip studio paint. Only sucks it's subscription while you can it at one purchase for windows. Did you try out drawing on microsoft surface pro? Also the HP zBook g4 really looks interesting apart from the ugly design it has wacom tech in it and bevels with real buttons (I use them a lot on my wacom cintiq 13hd) like the mobile studio pro and a matte screen (but I have no experience with HP products...). Also Apple products getting slower kind of scares me as I want to invest in something I can use for a long time.

What a great use of your time @sanderjansenart and I agree that posting here does feel more REAL. I haven't posted to FB or Insta for sometime, but I'll get to it. Possibly high Summer, who knows.

I'm glad you checked in as I think I'm sort of doing the same trying to post at least twice a week, but also busy IRL.

I really love the 'happy drip' of your work, it makes me smile and the lines are so strong and expressive.

Yeah in other social media it feels like befriending/following(and later unfollow) is all about to get followers or attention on themselves...I still post for the people who are really interested and I don't think a lot of people will go here on steemit as it isn't that mainstream yet...

Hope you are busy with good things?

Thank you very much! hug
