The woman in yellow and and the plants

in #ntopaz5 years ago (edited)

Today it's a rainy Sunday here and so I decided to work on a new oil painting on paper (200 gr paper in A4 size) with my "woman in yellow".

This time I painted her and her house adding some minimal plants. While I'm working on this piece, my intention was to work on how the palette of colors I chose works on it. The main colors was an ocher, a grey of Payne (that is a shades between blue and grey) and the white. I added the plant at the bottom (and also close to the little house) to understand if they can give more movements to the scene and I think the final result is not so bad. ^_^

Working on this kind of painting is really relaxing for me, because I can focus myself on the shades of colors more than on the figure (that has a very simple face made by just few lines) and, for the next one, I want to try a different palette of colors.

I like to paint on paper with my oil colors, because everything is more fast than on canvas. I started my way on art with waterclors and just after a couple of years I started to paint usinf oil colors. Now I'm literally fall in love with him and use the to paint on different surfaces (sure, using different tecniques ^_^).

I hope you like it

Another lovely variation of the yello woman, i like it:)
The little house is a cute detail and also being at the same height with the woman. looks like the back of the head of another yellow women hiding behing the grey hill:)
