DESERTING REALITY - DISERTARE LA REALTA’ (Original Painting) [ENG/ITA]

I started this painting from a computer-edited photo of myself, playing with fantasy to express how our brain cells are always working even when we not see, or not want see or we are sleeping, like a computer that continues to work in Stanby mode. The tecnology is based on the neuroscience, which allowed us to understand many characteristics of neurons (the cells that make up the nervous tissue) and of synapses, highly complex structures that allow the communication between the neurons themselves. These studies has been do for undestand how to build a intelligent computer…..
But... all this tecnology has improved our lives?

Ho iniziato questa pittura partendo da una mia foto che ho rielaborato al computer, giocando di fantasia per esprimere come le cellule del nostro cervello sono sempre in funzione anche quando non vediamo o non vogliamo vedere o stiamo dormendo, in maniera analoga ad un computer che continua a lavorare in Standby. La tecnologia si basa sulla neuroscienza, che ha permesso di capire molte caratteristiche dei neuroni (le cellule che compongono il tessuto nervoso) e delle sinapsi, strutture altamente complesse che consentono la comunicazione tra i neuroni stessi. Questi studi sono stati fatti per capire come costruire un computer "intelligente"....
Ma... tutta questa tecnologia ha migliorato la nostra vita?

E’ una tela di cm 70x70 dipinta ad acrilico e ricamata con forme geometriche da fili di cotone, in modo da evidenziare il ritmo delle cellule nervose quando sono a lavoro.

Also the hands are embroidered because are an istrument of human work.
I’m not against the technology, but from the use made with it. Perhaps it is taking too much of our time, especially of the new generations…What do you think???

Anche le mani sono ricamate perché sono lo strumento del lavoro umano.
Non sono contro la tecnologia, ma dall’uso che se ne fa. Forse sta prendendo troppo del nostro tempo, soprattutto delle nuove generazioni….Cosa ne pensate???
