There is certainly no sign of weakness in fighting a defensive war, striking an opponent unaware makes the war more gruesome for him/her. The defensive strategy has always been known as the most powerful style of waging a war.
Also, nobody should tell you not to engage in a battle that is obviously needless, that's it is of no importance to your cause.

NB: It should be noted that this content and every other related content on this subject is not aimed to stir up any individual, association or communities to rebel. But just a logical reasoning for building the subconscious minds.

In a realistic perspective, we're humans and we all have our limitations. Sometimes, we try to expand beyond the limit and hence we fall into danger. It is a natural phenomenon that occurs at every point in each person's life which is not capable of help.
This underpins why most Generals would go underground and lure their enemies into an imprudent attack - a situation that best suits them, a point where the enemy must be exhausted. A clear point to launch a "Counterattack"
Sometimes, the best policy to adopt is to examine yourself, know your limits and pick your battles carefully. While you are patiently waiting, your enemy must have thought at a point to himself/herself that you're weak and consider you as no "threat". The best of the reaction play out in a scenario/statement like this; I never saw that coming, OMG!. At that point, you have dropped either a grenade or a missile among them. And they're probably confused!
What you just did is making your enemies fight a battle on your own terms.

What most people achieve in their imaginations are what warriors accomplish in reality.
If you must accomplish tasks, break rules, cover grounds and be known as the weirdest dream chaser. First, you have to emulate the lifestyle of a warrior, and the requirement is simple. You have to face life in a realistic but holistic perspective.
The intricacies between the life of being a warrior and not being a warrior are best understandable in the facts of life - "life is a realist school of thought and you must be aware of your limitations"
War as a relativity with Economics. It is a balance of "Ends and Means"
Often times, a General might have the best plans to achieve a certain end, nevertheless, if such an end is not backed up with a means to accomplish it. His plans are worthless and of no good.

No Point in Fighting all Battles that come your way, hence pick your battles carefully

Regardless of how swift you are in battle, you can't always win all battles. Therefore, you need to understand the big difference between your ends and means. You can employ the deception scheme, making your opponent believe that you are weak and finding your base. Meanwhile, you are about to launch a perfect counterattack.
Pick your battles carefully!
