[뮌헨에서 살기] 옥토버페스트! 그 현장을가자 (Octoberfest in Munich!) with English translation)

한국도 이제 날씨가 슬슬 추워진다고 들었는데 다들 큰 일교차속에서 건강하시길 바라겠습니다. 이제 제가 독일에 온지 약 열흘이 지났는데요. 열흘중 약 8일정도가 비가 왔습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 현재 제가 있는 독일 뮌헨은 옥토버페스트의 열기로 뜨거운데요. 그 현장에 대해 인트로 기사를 써 보려 합니다. 물론, 옥토버페스트는 약 2주간 열리기 때문에 더 좋은 퀄리티의 내용과 사진으로 곧 다시 찾아뵙겠습니다^^.
I've heard that the weather in Korea is getting colder as the season is turning and I wish you are always healthy from the capricious weather. It has been 10 days since I moved to Germany but about 8 days were raining. However, Munich is very busy and excited with Octoberfest and I am writing for the festival. Of course, I will write more about the festival since it is held for a couple weeks.

"옥토버 페스트란?"
뮌헨 10월 맥주축제는 독일 바이에른 주 뮌헨에서 9월 말부터 10월 초까지 2주 동안 열리는 축제이다. 옥토버페스트라고 부르기 1810년부터 뮌헨 서부의 테레지엔비제에서 열리며, 매년 6백만 명이 찾는 세계 최대 규모의 민속축제이다. 이 축제를 위해 뮌헨의 양조사들은 특별히 알코올 도수가 높은 맥주를 만들어 내놓는다. 관광객 500만 명 이상이 방문하며, 소시지 20만 개 이상, 맥주 500만 리터 이상 소비되는 거대한 축제다 (출처: 위키피디아)
"What is October Fest?"
It is a beer festival being held in Munchen between the late September to early October for a couple weeks. It has a long history that it started in 1810. It is also a traditional festival yet about 5 million tourists are visiting the city to join the festival every year. During the festival, more than 200K sausages and 500M liters of beers are consumed.

Yes! I am here in Munich and the city is very busy. The festival also creates more than 100M Euro for the city. Though it rains and the weather is not good but I hope you are enjoying my article.

옥토버 페스트는 어제 개막을 했습니다. 12시에 독일 뮌헨시장님의 행사 개막식과 함께 시작했습니다.
비가오는 날임에도 불구하고 엄청난 인파가 몰렸답니다.
So it began yesterday on 17th of September. The mayor of the city started the festival at noon with a number of traditional performance and there were tons of people despite it was raining.

독일 뮌헨에서 이 사진을 보시게 된다면 이길을 따라가시면 됩니다.
그러면 옥토버 페스트 현장으로 가실 수 있답니다.
If you see the sign on the street in Munich during the festival, you can just follow it so you could meet the place where the festival is held.

비가 왔음에도 불구하고 정말 많은 인파들이 있었는데요. 제가 비록 사진으로 다 담지는 못했지만 옥토버페스트 행사장 입구를 들어가려면 기나긴 줄을 기다려야 했습니다.
Despite it was raining hard but there were tons of people. Even though I could not have them all in my camera but it was true that there were tons of people that there were a line before entering the festival place.

하지만 사실상 옥토버페스트기간 중에는 뮌헨 전체가 행사장이라고 보시면 되는데요.
일반적으로 뮌헨에서 판매되는 맥주는 도수가 약 5도 이지만 행사기간동안 판매되는 맥주의 도수는 약 10도랍니다.
맨 위에 사진을 보시면 큰 맥주잔을 하나씩 들고 있는걸 보실텐데요. 저 한컵당 맥주의 양은 1리터입니다.
가격은 일반적일땐 약 5~6유로지만 행사기간땐 10~11유로 입니다!
Actually, the whole city is a festival place that you can visit any bars in the city to enjoy the festival.
Normal beer' alcohol degree that are sold in Munich is around 5 but during the festival it is 10. It is literally double.
If you see the picture above, you can see everyone hols a giant beer mug and it is a liter. The beer price in Munich is around 5-6 Euro for a liter but during the festival it is up to 10~11 euro.

위 사진들은 행사장까지 행진하는 모습인데요. 행사 개막하는 날엔 일부 도로를 차단하고 그 길을 행사에 참가하는 사람들에게 행진을 하게 함으로써 행사가 시작된답니다. 저때 시간은 11시 반쯤이었는데요 행사는 12시부터 시작하였지만 벌써부터 많은 사람들이 흥이 나있는 모습을 볼 수 있습니다.
This is the marching of the people to the festival place. The city closed a number of roads for the marching ceremony. When the ceremony is finished that all people go to the festival place, now the festival begins. When I took the picture, it was around 11:30 in the morning and you could see people are excited though it is raining even though the festival starts at noon.

행사장 내부 사진입니다. 행사장이라고 하기보단 놀이동산을 생각하시면 되는데요. 날씨는 우중충하지만 실제 행사장의 열기는 대단했습니다. 맥주를 마시는 곳은 텐트라고 부르는데요. 실제 텐트가 아니라 엄청나게 큰 술집에 텐츠형식의 천막을 씌워서 텐트라고 한다고 했습니다.
This is the inside the bar (tent) in the festival place. You could see lots of things in the place because they are like an amusement park. Though it was raining, people seemed they were very excited for the event. The place where people drink is called tent. It is a giant bar but the roof was associated with the tent so it is called as tent.

실내를 들어가면 진짜 그 웅장함에 놀랄수밖에 없는데요. 이런 텐트가 몇십개가 있고 놀이기구 간이스낵샵 등등이 엄청 큰 대지에 펼쳐져 있습니다. 사실상 들어가면 발디딜 틈도 없었죠.
If you really go inside the tent, you will be overwhelmed literally because of its magnificence. There are a number of tents in the place and there are also some rides such as roller-coaster and biking including small snack shops. And the place where people drink is full that you gotta wait for a long time to have a seat.

개막날이고 또 토요일이라 사람들이 많다고 생각했기에 저는 포기했구요. 곧 다시 방문할 예정입니다^^

Even I could not have a table for drink because it was the opening day and Saturday at the same time. But since the festival is for a couple weeks, I will visit there and write another article with better quality of pictures :)
