One on the Radio

so it looks like I am going to be invited to the “The Needle On Your Record” show by @d-vine (to find more about what the show does for musicians go Here ) the on the SMA discord channel to talk about the One project. As introvert I am terrified abut also thrilled for the opportunity because I really want this to take flight.

For those of you who do not know what the One project is, here is a short recap -

In the 1990’s a guy named Kevin Godley spearheaded a project called one world one voice in which 250 Musicians all over the world collaborated on one piece of music either expanding on it, or playing on existing pieces, or both. This whole collaboration was documented on the short film you see below.

This body of work inspired me as an artist and musician so I would like to create a modern slightly expanded version of it. Next to the chain tape aspect I would also like to incorporate others areas of art, we will have the original music we will create, a video but also a virtual gallery of visual art made for the project, we will incorporate poems into the video and have a companion e-book with short stories and longer poems that might not fit into the video, Or if we have to many submission were just not able to be put into the video. Also unlike Kevin I will most likely not be travelling as we have more possibilities through internet nowadays but never say never :) This project will take about a year to accomplish so have patience with me :)

for the project we are looking for

A- musicians to collaborate with and create our musical piece
B- regular people who might want to give us video snippets of them selves for the video
C- Visual artists, stop motion artists and animators who might want to contribute a snippet to the piece.
D- poets who might want to contribute pieces that will be incorporated as well (no more than 15 lines. If longer it will be incorporated in a companion e- book where short stories will be welcome as well )
E- dancers who might want to provide footage dancing to the music piece to be incorporated in the video
