¡Bienvenid@! Es un placer saludarle desde Cumaná, estado Sucre, Venezuela. En esta oportunidad tengo el agrado de participar en el concurso Steemit Openmic en su semana 132, con este merengue oriental venezolano, el cual he titulado "Los fantasmas de Río Caribe", canción original basada en los versos del poema con el mismo nombre, publicado en el libro Versos Crónicos Riocariberos (2008), cuyo autor fue mi padre, Jesús Rafael Millán Pazos. Es un honor para mí rendirle este tributo a quien dedicó gran parte de su vida al quehacer cultural; y también a la gente de mi pueblo.

Es propicia la ocasión para agradecer a los organizadores del concurso @openmic: @pfunk y @luzcypher y al resto del equipo @soundlegion, @krystle, @verbal-d y @meno, por crear éste espacio para los músicos y también por permitirnos exponer nuestro trabajo y disfrutar del talento de numerosos músicos alrededor del mundo. De igual manera, quiero agradecer a todos los usuarios que apoyan nuestro trabajo como creadores y artistas en este concurso, especialmente a @ausbitbank, @curie, @votovzla, @engranaje, @cervantes, @sancho.panza, @Helpie, @lukestokes, @steemcreative, @swelker101, @utopian, entre otros.

Presentation

Welcome! It is a pleasure to greet you from Cumaná, Sucre state, Venezuela. This time I am pleased to participate in the Steemit Openmic contest in its week 132, with this Venezuelan oriental merengue, which I have titled "The ghosts of Rio Caribe", original song based on the verses of the poem with the same name, published in the book Versos Crónicos Riocariberos (2008), whose author was my father, Jesús Rafael Millán Pazos. It is an honor for me to pay this tribute to those who dedicated a great part of their lives to cultural activities; and also to the people of my town.

This is the occasion to thank the organizers of the contest @pfunk and @luzcypher and the rest of the team @soundlegion, @krystle, @ verbal-d and @meno, for creating this space for the musicians and also for allowing us to present our work and enjoy the talent of numerous musicians around the world.In the same way, I want to thank all the users that support our work as creators and artists in this contest, especially @ausbitbank, @curie, @votovzla, @engranaje, @cervantes, @sancho.panza, @Helpie, @lukestokes, @steemcreative, @swelker101, @utopian, among others.

Cuando venga por mi tierra

no sea que vea una aparición
de esas que a muchos aterra.
Yo no sé si sean verdad
los cuentos que se describen
pero le voy a nombrar
los fantasmas de Río Caribe.

Desde la Punta me cuentan
que salía esmandado
un jinete sin cabeza
en su caballo enfrenao.

Galopaba por la playa
muchas gentes y que lo vieron
subía por Chamberí,
llegaba hasta Guayaberos
y echando fuego bajaba
por Catorce de Febrero.

En La Ermita, mis amigos,
ya se me estaba olvidando,
los vecinos de El Zamuro
oían a un cura rezando.

En el Cerro e Mateíto
más de uno se ha chorreao
porque todavía dicen
que allí y que sale un ahorcao.

En la esquina El Gato Negro
en Calle Crispín Quijada
dicen que salía un fantasma
en forma de vaca blanca.

En la Avenida Bermúdez
me contaron, me lo han dicho
, salía una puerca grande
con un poco de puerquitos
y también una gallina
con un poco de pollitos.

También pude conocer
y al recordarlo me asusto,
por los lados de El Molino
salía el feo Jupo Jupo.

Por la calle La Marina,
calle Piar, calle Bolívar,
se escuchaba a La Llorona
y también a Las Chiriguas.

Cuando venga por mi tierra
esté atento al parrandear,
no se vaya a usted encontrar
un fantasma en Río Caribe,
no lo vayan a espantar
los fantasmas e' Río Caribe.
