Sexual Fantasies and #MeToo

in #opinion5 years ago (edited)

Several days ago I was reading an article on "La Verdad" when I saw a link for a study on sexual fantasies from the University of Quebec. My Spanish isn't good enough to understand the full article but what I was able to pick up was that over 60% of women have sexual fantasies of being dominated sexually. After reading this I went back to the other reading I was doing thinking this couldn't be real in the age of the MeToo movement.

The thought stayed with me for a couple of days. My thought was that in this day of almost hypersensitivity to women being sexually abused by men, how could this many women actually have fantasies of being dominated sexually. It seems like the MeToo movement is going against something desired, or at least to be found sexually stimulating, by more than half of all women. While seemingly attacking all men for the sexual misconduct of some, are many of these women secretly wanting the nearest caveman to drag them into a cave by the hair on their head?

I finally looked more information on the study up in English. The survey included input from 1516 people from Quebec, 799 women and 717 men. I was surprised by the notation of the binary gender designation in this type of study given our more gender fluid portion of the population and the article gave no information on the sexual preferences of those being surveyed. Both of these pieces of information could have added some context to the results of the study.

It turns out 64.6% of the women surveyed fantasize about being sexually dominated. The study goes on to indicate, of the women surveyed 52.1% fantasize about being tied up during sex, 36.3% fantasize about spanked or whipped for sexual pleasure, and 28.9% fantasize about being forced to have sex. Surely it's not just me that sees the irony between the attitude of many of those in the MeToo movement and the results of this study.

The possibility also exist the people of Quebec are unique in their fantasizes. Another study by the University of North Texas and the University of Notre Dame involved 355 young women. From this article:

The results of the study, (which also explored other sexual and aggressive fantasies, self esteem, attitudes to sex and other personality testing) are that 52% of the women had fantasies about forced sex by a man: 32% had fantasies about being raped by a man: 28% - forced oral sex by a man: 16% - forced anal sex: 24% - incapacitated: 17% - forced sex by a woman: 9% - raped by a woman: 9% - forced oral sex by a woman. Overall, 62% reported having had at least one of these fantasies.

Both of these studies show the irony between MeToo supporters and female fantasies. This doesn't mean that as men we should be more aggressive toward women. During some of my reading I came across the point that women were much less likely than men to fulfill their sexual fantasizes. It's much like many of us ride roller coasters at amusement parks for the adrenaline rush generated by the fear we experience on the roller coaster. At the same time, none of us really want to be put in danger. Sexual abuse can't be tolerated in our society, but that isn't stopping many from enjoying the rush of excitement.

This just goes to show how badly women are harmed by gender feminism. In the developed world, where feminism is rampant, men keep getting more timid and weak as time goes on because we are constantly told that is how we must behave. But women don't like that kind of behavior. It doesn't turn them on. So both men and women end up being frustrated.

The solution, I think, is to get out of the developed world and go to places where feminism is less prevalent. In places like Eastern Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and even East Asia to a certain extent, women are not so hated for being cute and vulnerable, and men are not hated for being aggressive (as long as they are not actually assaulting anyone or doing something the girl obviously doesn't want). It seems like most people could be happier in those kind of societies.

My wife and I happen to agree with you. We have already bought a house to spend a portion of our retirement in Mexico. We're all told that we should be tolerant and let everyone be themselves, until men are men and women are women. Which for some reason is not to be tolerated as much.
