Filipino Orchids
I have a very rare (in this part of the world) Orchid Variety called a Filipino Orchid. It has large pink heavy leaves and the flowers buds don’t occur as single buds. Then appear as bunches on very long stems, which unlike usual buds they hang down.
As you look at this group of buds you can imagine my excitement as I look forward to the large number of pink buds flowering!

They are not popular because the large leaves don’t direct moisture to the roots and they are very sensitive to dehydration with the leaves dying quickly if several days of watering are missed and the buds won’t open.
