Correct Construction of Joseph Hwang's Trivet
Firstly I discovered that Joseph Hwang's origami trivet also opens up into two serving trays for snacks :)
Secondly the designer mentioned that my construction was a little different to his video and sure enough when I rewatched the video I had skipped three steps.
The tightness of the hold is the same, however the final three steps make the underside as elegant as the top and tuck away the loose flap on the side.
Insert the tip of the second unit and slide behind the half house as per previous instructions.
- Bend the half house back around and fold back the bottom of the little house creating a sideways triangle.
- Now fold down the top. Squash folding this sideways triangle.
- Turn the model over and tuck the loose triangle flap in the middle into the thicker wall.
Correct construction is now complete.
