Hi guys, today i would like to share a very important platform with you. It's called Medibloc.

Medibloc is a simplified medical records platform that allows the user to share his medical history quickly and effectively in a decentralized manner. It also allows the user to delegate loved ones or family with the authority to access and share this medical records on the users behalf.

But why do we need Medibloc?

Difficult Access to Medical History

I don't know how it's done in the United States or in Europe but in my country Nigeria, hospitals use large files to record patient information.
These files are then stored in a storage room. When you visit the hospital, you give them your full name and they go... Search for your file.
Now it's all good when you are a new or regular visitor, but when you show up after about 2 years and give your name, chances are your file is next to impossible to find. It is either under hundreds of files OR has been damaged by water, dirt or rodents due to improper storage OR has been moved to an external storage facility OR burnt to clear room.
Many hospitals try to hide this dastardly fact by requiring you to "Open a new file" every year.
Most people just open a new file and the former records are lost.
What they don't know is that those old records play a vital part in future assessments of ailments and can help save lives.

Emergency Response

No one hopes for accidents but they do happen. In the event of such unfortunate occurrence, some victims are incapacitated and cannot reveal or share their medical history. How do the doctors know the type of treatment they will respond to? How does the doctor know if the victim is allergic to certain Medications? Certainly we are not going to encourage Trial and Error when a life is at stake? Even when family members try to help there are legal issues involved as the victims main hospital may refuse to release medical records without his/her express permission. This has led to many easily avoidable deaths.

Cost

Sadly, many hospitals are unethical and only money oriented. Sometimes a patient can undergo treatment at Hospital A, then move to Hospital B for another treatment but get informed that they would have to repeat the first treatment which they have already done. This is because there are no records to show the effectiveness of the first treatment.

Hospitals view each other as competition and their is no inter-operability between them. This ultimately puts the patient at risk.

Medibloc: Solution To Medical Information Distribution

Medibloc gives users full control over their medical information. Everything can be stored on these records. Tests, Scans, Results, Treatments, Observations, Recommendations, etc.
This allows any medical practitioner to easily understand the patients symptoms from their medical history and know the appropriate healthcare to administer.

Medical History Record

Medibloc allows researchers to study patients of interest. By providing an immutable record that can be trusted. Researchers can follow the different stages of a particular ailment and response to treatment in order to develop better treatment practices or medicine.

Medibloc is hosted on the blockchain. This makes it secure and a trustworthy repository for vital medical data. This data will be stored forever and unlike traditional methods cannot be lost, or destroyed by rodents or environmental factors. It can also be accessed from anywhere at anytime using a smart device so users don't have to go to any physical location(hospital) anytime they need their records.

Secure Records

Medibloc provides a safe, go-to record that can be used to make decisions on behalf of the user. Eg, insurance companies can refer to the users medical history in times of investigation and claims.

The Medibloc blockchain is powered by its custom tokens MED/MEDX.
Medibloc was originally hosted on Qtum with the MED, but the illustrious team has decided to develop their own blockchain to streamline performance and increase speed. Thus the MEDX token.
Those with the MED Tokens will receive MEDX for joining the airdrop here or buying from the site when the mainnet launches.

Institutions conducting medical studies can choose to offer MED rewards in exchange for user data, and the users can decide to participate and earn by granting permission to their records.
With Medibloc, your medical data is also a financial tool.

Medibloc gives users total control over their medical data, with seamless protocols allowing users to control access to their information at every level. Users also save time and money getting easier access to their health records. Medibloc supports 3 account types: General Users, Healthcare Providers and Data Researchers.

Medibloc has also developed an open source API and Software Development Kit to allow developers integrate their own services into the blockchain.
Developers can create applications that will offer services to diverse industries such as supplies, insurance, vitals monitoring.
Medibloc has already released SDK v0.1:

Use Case Scenario

John is a journalist who travels around the world. He also has a rare bone condition that produces excess hormones that he has to counter with some drugs. During a trip he loses his luggage and without the drugs his nervous system begins to go haywire. He is rushed to the hospital and doctors are unable to pinpoint the cause of his condition. They contact his work office but learn nothing of note. Finally they call his wife.
She knows of John's condition and has been granted permission to access his records. With just a few clicks she is able to share his medical records with the foreign hospital. This allows them to discover the cause of his condition, and see the treatment he was taking. Doctors are then able to stabilise and save John's life. This would not have been possible if they had to wait for the physical records from John's hospital.
