Cherat is a beautiful hill station. It is situated directly above the villages of Saleh Khana, Dak Ismail Khel and Chapri of district of Nowshera in province of Khyber Pakhtunwa, Pakistan. Cherat is located at 34 miles south east from Peshawar and has an elevation of 4, 5000 feel on the west of the Khattak range, which separates the two districts of Nowshera and Kohat District.
Cherat has a rich historical background. During the time of British rule the authorities built a hospital, a church and bungalows. The hill station gets a good supply of water. It has been used as a headquarters of Peshawar division command and was also once the station for British regiment. The hill station was also used as a military base by the special service group and for the training base of army. Cherat has been a host for several national military events for improving command course in 2010.
The station has become developed over the years. There are schools for both boys and girls. The city also has a bank which can be used for financial services.
