Chemical Found in Cannabis Shows Significant Therapy Potential for Pancreatic Cancer

According to a recently published Harvard study in the Frontiers of Oncology journal, researchers have discovered that a certain chemical found in cannabis has shown significant therapy potential for helping those suffering from pancreatic cancer.

They have recently seen success with using a drug that has been created from a cannabis extract, it's referred to as FBL-O3G and it's a synthetic derivative of Cannflavin B; flavonoids are phytonutrients found in plants and vegetables. There are believed to be more than 6k variations. It's a non-cannabinoid, non-psychoactive compound, FBL-03G is derivative of a cannabis flavonoid.

There are some flavonoids that are known to be associated specifically with cannabis and they are known as cannaflavins.

Scientists have applied FBL-O3G to pancreatic cancer cells in a petri dish and they've also injected it into metastasized pancreatic tumors in mice, and they were very surprised with what they found.

The cannabis extract helped to inhibit tumor growth and tumor progression in other parts of the body as well.

In 70 percent of the mice, the tumors were completely eliminated. They concluded that FBL-O3G might be more effective than traditional radiation therapy as a treatment option. Now, scientists will be looking to conduct more extensive investigation on FBL-O3G and the potential for pancreatic cancer therapy.

Flavonoids account for roughly 10 percent of the known bioactive compounds that have already been discovered in cannabis.

FBL-O3G was created by Flavocure Biotech Inc and their focus is on developing drugs that are derived from non-cannabinoid molecules.

Cannabis is believed to help offer remedy for a wide variety of conditions and that includes cancer, epilepsy, PTSD, anxiety, addiction, pain, nausea, muscle spasms, mental health disorders, Crohn's, Alzheimer's, and more.

The recent study adds to the growing body of research which supports the notion that cannabis has the potential to bring healing for a wide range of diseases and ailments today that impact millions all over the world.

Hello
Good article
I am pleased to hear that medicinal plants can help people from many diseases.

Hopefully with the legalization of Cannabis all over the world that is happening now, we can finally do some good deep studies into cannabis usage and cancer, I've been hearing for ages how it decreases and even eliminates certain types of cancer, studies like the one you mentioned confirm it... but governments kept blocking the way, it's a real shame politicians don't realize what their role are.
