You can change the world - starting from you!

We all yearn for a better world. A nice place to be where there are few or no worries. We are tired to watch violence happening in different parts of the world. Its pains us to see bombings and killings happening in our community, country or in far away places. Human suffering is now on a very unprecedented scale that if nothing is done, the human race will be in danger. Human politics have failed to bring lasting solutions to the challenges we struggle with. At the very least, they make many promises and fulfill few. So how can we join hands collectively to make the world better and build a bright future for unborn generations? The change should begin with you - all of us. Here are little ways we can contribute to a better world.

1. Be selfless:Selfishness is a negative trait which is at the root of global problems. Many this that worry humans today could be traced to some elements of selfishness. When people in politics make laws that will suit them or their family members at the expense of public interest, then other people suffer because of such selfishness. Greedy and selfish commercialism has led to the destruction of delicate life cycles on the earth. This has resulted in pollution and the increase of environmental disasters. So you can now appreciate the cost of selfish actions on all of us. So you can begin to change the world by thinking more of others and less of yourself. Are there little ways you could put the interest of other people ahead of your own? Could you assist the homeless, elderly, sick, the young ones and others in need? When you put the interest of others ahead of your own and everyone does the same, imagine how much we would have changed the world.

2. Honesty: People say that honesty is the best policy. Its easier said than done isn't it? Saying that we should always be honest is one thing, living by that principle is another thing altogether. How many times have you had your lost valuables returned to you. How many times have you seen people give misleading information just to make material gains? Have you in one way or the other portrayed a warped view of yourself or situation just to get what you want. If all humans vow to be honest, dont you think we could reduce if not eliminate crimes. We probably need to work on our personalities and change them for better. We all appreciate honesty when we are the recipients. How much better the world would be if we remain honest people whether in the family, at work or with friends

....We all have contributed to Society ills!

And we can work together to fix them. When we think of better ways to deal with our friends, our workmates, our business and other aspects of life, we make the world a better place. If we accept responsibility for the situation of things and work hard in small ways to turn things around, then we will begin to build the world of our dreams. Its time to stop blaming others and pointing fingers. If we work hard wherever we are to fix our community, our collective efforts will change the world. So true change begins with you - and me!
