What Chivalry Is Not.

Wikipedia defines Chivalry as a varying code of conduct developed between 1170 and 1220, never decided on or summarized in a single document, informal, associated with the medieval institution of knighthood. It is all the qualifications of a knight, including courtesy, generosity and valor.

The art of men behaving courteously towards women is known as chivalry. It's not the norm of today and finding men who embody masculine chivalry is difficult. Women now consider chivalry a lost art. This is what chivalry isn't.

It is not being so understanding and patient that you tolerate disrespect from a woman. Even when she's wrong, you have to be the one to be sorry and apologize. It is not breaking your bones so a woman always gets what she wants from you. You shouldn't go above and beyond your limitations just to please a woman.

It is not being a dictator who rules with an iron fist. You shouldn't dominate every aspect of her life got prove you are the man. It is not being the nice guy who would do anything and everything asked of you. You should not be made to lie down so a woman can walk over you just when she wants.

It's not being her saviour whenever she's in trouble or is facing any challenges. You are not to be used as an escape route and only to be called upon when help is needed. It is not being a macho man who always has to show his strength to win a woman's heart. It's not about you killing the dragon in the castle to get the princess.

It is not always putting a woman's needs before yours. Love your neighbour as yourself, not more than yourself. Doing all this isn't what will make a woman fall in love with you. Will continue with what chivalry is some other time. If there's any question, let me know.
