New Toy: Testing the PALNET thingy
I wasn't planning on posting anything - too tired, working on other stuff - but how can you resist a new toy?
As far as the actual posting page is concerned, the layout looks pretty much the same as what we're used to on the old Steemit platform, which is good, as it easy to use. An important part for whoever might join us in the near or distant future. Regular social-media users don't know much about markdown and editing a post, so you want to keep it simple. The whole idea of cryptocurrencies is complicated enough, why burden people with the additional problem of having to figure out how a site works?

Then there's the Hot Page, which brings fresh names, not those you see everyday on the Steemit platform, although I doubt many even check on that anymore. When I was young (on the platform) and naive I looked in awe and wondered when, if ever, will I see my name there. Then I realized it was all bullshit and never bothered with the Hot/Trending again.... and lived happily ever after.
I only read a couple of posts on this Palnet, so I have basically no idea what these PAL tokens are about, but at least the name is nice. Just hope to God you don't need another wallet for that.
Anyway, it's good to have another app to help us interact with the blockchain - of the others I only use Busy and Partiko so far. I suggest you give it a try and learn your way around it, especially now that HF21 is coming (I guess) and we all remember what happened with the previous HF, when the platform went down.
By the way, does anyone know when HF21 is supposed to kick in?
There will be lots to come, with a visual refresh, and new ways to move around the platform. I'm excited to see you've tried it out. A good way to think of it is like a companion and expansion to Steem!
Everything you do here will be reflected on Steem interfaces as well; if you hold PALcoin staked, it's like powering up your Steem into SP. It will allow you to allocate rewards in both tokens while voting on content all over this front end, and all Steem front ends if the palnet tagged is used. Overall, we're just really excited to try to get people excited about engaging, sharing, and being social again. It's a big experiment that we're pretty stoked to be be a part of, so thanks for jumping on board!
