SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTIST Episode 44

Zig ( @onemedia ) and Denise ( AKA @d-vine ) opened the show with a great deal of news, first talking about a proposed meet-up of Steemit musicians in Germany, January, 2020, presently in the conceptual phase, and looking for Whale sponsorship so we may, more officially brand this event a Musical STEEMfest. We then spoke briefly about Denise's academic progress towards her Audio Engineering career, then jumped into the music with 'Breaking Loose' from the album, 'DnB Free' by Nowhere Near.
Then at 28:00 into the show, we discussed the the car accident that Dookie Brownflow's ( @wolfnworbeikood ) brother Boo suffered. Then the two presented their most recent collaboration, 'Words Cannot Express' at 31:48 into the show then spoke for quite a while about how the Drum-n-Bass style of electronic music has propagated across the Steemit landscape and also how well it combines with Jazz elements. We then mentioned the Peace, Abundance, Liberty network 'PALnet' and the recent ICO of the PAL coin and Peachymod's ( @juliakponsford ) reminder to check STEEM ENGINE for any drops or tips in PAL coin or other cryptocurrency that Steemit users and PAL associates may have earned.

Skaarl ( @skaarl ) then arrived to present the first two of the three tracks from his recent release called, 'Outcast' from 'Exile'. and the second of three tunes released 'Jaded Entity' from 'Exile'. Because one of the platforms on which he uploaded this collection of tunes had a 'single' category to which he assigned this collection, it brought about a conversation about the historical differences between 'Singles', EP's, and LP's. We later went on to discuss the Digtal Audio Workstation(s) he used, including Reason. We discussed in some detail the theme of his 'Exile' collection, and his life events that inspired it. We also discussed an few events where his music may appear, all starting at 47:47 into the show.

Segovia ( @elbrujo ) came back this week to introduce to the audience of Spotlight On The Artist a newly released beat-tape of his called, 'Vandalism'. As we were bringing Segovia ( @elbrujo ) on we had a 'guess the name of the artist' contest which @tygertyger won and immediately donated her prize winnings to Dookie's brother's relief. Segovia ( @elbrujo ) discussed the difficulties in completing this beat-tape caused by the socio-political calamity he and the people of Venezuela are facing, and discussed his maturation as a producer. We talked about the genres such as LoFi, Synthwave, and Vaporwave that influenced his work and how he had reduced the number of tracks in this beat-tape to better maintain a cohesive quality between all the works in the beat-tape. He mentioned his artistic intention of creating a legacy and we went in depth into the Existential metaphysics of his artistic process, all starting at 1:38:03 into the show.
