Yes indeed! Anytime something like this happens to a nation with much of their economy based around tourism, the financial ramifications can be, and often are catastrophic.
However I cannot let the opportunity pass to mention the majesty of nature, no matter how destructive mankind is and we all agree that as a species we could win some pretty big trophies and medals on that front, right? Nature is far bigger and far badder than even the despots and war-lords in power. If Mother nature decided to shake us off the planet we would not stand a chance...
Ya gotta just stand in awe of that kind of utterly supreme dominance. You would think that as a species we may even learn to uhm...Respect it!
